As the oldest inland Florida settlement, the charming town of Micanopy has a well-established tradition of Southern hospitality. Pronounced (Mick-can-oh'-pee), Micanopy is often called "The little town that time forgot." However, Micanopy possesses warmth and charm as well as an eclectic array of antique shopping. Micanopy was voted "Best Antique Shopping" town and Paynes Prairie was voted "Best Place to View Alligators" by readers of Florida Magazine in 2006.

Today, the streets are lined with historic buildings each housing unique shops and cafes. Here you can find unique sites; friendly people; shops brimming with antiques, collectables, folk art, and decorative fare; and beautiful vistas and parks nearby such as Paynes Prairie, Orange Lake and Cross Creek. In and around Micanopy, there are many things to do year round that will please the whole family.

Best of all, Micanopy is located 1 mile off I-75, 25 minutes away from the University of Florida in Gainesville and just a few hours drive from Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, St. Augustine, Tallahassee, Tampa, and Orlando. If you're in Florida or planning a visit nearby soon, we're right down the road, so drop by and visit sometime--you'll be glad you did!  While you're at our website, take a look around and find out more history about our secret, "little" town that's big on relaxation, shopping, antiques, and Southern hospitality.

The Shop

Don't miss out on the incredible shopping.

Take an inside tour of "The Shop" (As seen in Southern Living magazine and others)
